SOFTWARE
INTRODUCTION
The software introduced here is delivered with our PC driven gear and worm testers.
It calculates the different errors (F"i, f"i, fr) according to the data acquired during the measurement, save the results for traceability, and can deliver a measurent/control report.
Implementation on existing gear/worm testers
Our software can be used with different brands of gear/worm testers. This offers a low cost solution for updating old testers.

MAIN FUNCTIONS
Standard functions :
* Set up of the measurement

* Measurement and calculation of composite errors (F”i, f'i, Roundness, class, shock)

Flexibility
This software is delivered in its standard revision, but can be easily customized, according to the customer needs (interface with statistic modules, format of printed measurement report, format of measurements saving,...) .
Set up of measurement
* Selection of the units for measurement (mm or micron)
* Selection of automatic scaling or manual scaling for the display of graphics
* Selection of data required before measurement (name of the user/n°of manufacturing order/ name of the customer / n° of the piece)
* Value of the sensor scaling (allow to use sensors with different resolution)
* Value of the delay before starting acquisition (when a measurement is asked, the piece starts to rotate, but the measurement –acquisition of value- will start after a delay- in order to let the gear/worm enough time to find its correct driven position
* Set up of a password, used to limit acces to some functions (modification of the gear or worm data base / access to set up functions)
Gear and worm data base
The user can memorize the characteristics of the worms and the gears in a data base. The data memorized in the data base, are used when a measurement is required, or to display the results of the measurement
These data are mainly :
- Characteristics of the gear or the worm
Reference of the piece, number of teeth, module and class, picture of the worm or gear
- Characteristic of the master which must be used for measurement
Reference, number of teeth, storage location
- Picture of assembly, in order to show the user which accesories (bracket, gear support,...) must be used to measure the con,sidered worm or gear
- Tolerances corresponding to the different errors/characteristics measured, in order to determine if the piece is “good” or “bad”
Measurement
This screen allows to :
- input data (when selected) which will be displayed/memorized with the results
of measurement. These data are :
• name of the user
• n° of manufacturing order
• name of the customer
• n° of the piece
- start measurement
- display results of measurement :
• value measured or calculated (F”i, f'i, Roundness, class, shock)
• indicate value by value, if the measured/calculated values are within
the tolerance area
